

Part 1 Crime includes the following eight (8) crime categories. These are the categories that are reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and used to determine a cities crime rate:

The Crime Rate is a statistical method used to compare the occurrence of Part 1 Crime over a one-year period with the population of a given area. The standard crime rate of comparision is crimes per 100,000 population.
Auto related crime refers to the total number of Burglary of Motor Vehicle Offense added to the total number of Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle Offenses.
Violent Crime includes the following four (4) crime categories:
